Christina Bebernitz, Ph.D.
Senior Research Analyst
Christina Bebernitz is a senior research analyst for First Light. In this role, she supports the firm’s senior research team by using her expertise to perform deep scientific analysis on emerging themes and mechanisms-of-action in the biotech and pharmaceutical subsectors. Additionally, she conducts expert network due diligence, industry and market research, and channel surveillance. Her focus areas include: Biotechnology and Specialty Pharmaceuticals.
Prior to joining First Light, Bebernitz spent two years as an equity research associate for Leerink Partners (formerly SVB Securities) where she focused on the immuno-oncology space. Additionally, she led a team of graduate interns for Mid Atlantic Bio Angels, a life science-focused angel investment group.
Bebernitz earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences where she completed her research on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells in the lab of Dr. Renier Brentjens. She also holds a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry, with a minor in economics, from Union College.
