Lucas Baranowski, CFA
Research Analyst
Lucas Baranowski is a research analyst for First Light. In this role, he works closely with the firm’s senior research analysts on the non-therapeutic side of the investment team. He also supports the firm’s medical devices research effort, including work with the team’s third-party data, and assists with other research-related initiatives. His focus areas include: Life Science Tools and Services and Medical Devices and Equipment.
Baranowski brings more than 10 years of health care investment experience, gained entirely on the sell side. Before joining First Light, he was an associate analyst in equity research at KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he served as the most senior associate on a team covering ~25 life science tools and services companies. Prior to that, he was an associate director in equity research at UBS Securities, which was also a life science tools team. Additionally, he spent more than five years at Craig-Hallum Capital Group as a research analyst helping to cover health care more broadly. He began his career at Northland Securities, where he held roles in both technology and health care equity research.
Baranowski earned a bachelor of science degree in business, with majors in accounting and finance, from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation.
